Superboy departed from the Legion due to a villain's plot, and the book was renamed simply The Legion of Super-Heroes starting with issue #259 (January 1980). Editor Jack C. Harris hired Steve Ditko as guest artist on several issues, a decision which garnered a mixed reaction from the title's readership.[18] Jimmy Janes became the regular artist in a lengthy tale by Conway (and later Roy Thomas) involving Ultra Boy's disappearance during a mission, and his long odyssey to rejoin the team.[19] This story told the tale of the Legionnaire Reflecto (only glimpsed during the "Adult Legion" stories in Adventure Comics), featured villainy by the Time Trapper and Grimbor the Chainsman, and saw Superboy rejoin the team.[20]


The ancient companion is friendly to you and your companions and obeys your commands. In combat, the companion shares your initiative count, but it takes its turn immediately after yours. It can move and use its reaction on its own, but the only action it takes on its turn is the Dodge action, unless you take a bonus action on your turn to command it to take another action. That action can be one in its stat block or some other action. If you are incapacitated, the companion can take any action of its choice, not just Dodge.

As an action, you can touch the ancient companion and expend a spell slot of 1st-level or higher. The ancient companion regains a number of hit points equal to 10 times the level of spell slot expended.

Once the Madness Status Effect is obtained, Survivors are unable to lose it and may only regress back to Madness I by performing the Snap Out of It interaction after reaching Madness III.

SPECIAL ABILITY: Dream Projection Press and hold the Active Ability button to perform a Dream Projection and teleport to a Generator in view.Releasing the button early will cancel the action.

Press and hold the Interaction button while next to a corrupt Pool of Devotion to transform Vile Purge into Corrupt Purge for 60 seconds, removing it from the Pool of Devotion.

SPECIAL VICTOR INTERACTION: CRUSHWhen Victor is idle, Survivors can perform the Crush action on him, crushing him in the process and forcing him to re-grow on Charlotte's after 6 seconds.

If the bound Survivor brings any environmental object between them and a Chain's Gateway, the Chain will break immediately.However, this action causes a replacement Chain to spawn and attempt to rebind the Survivor.

BIRDS OF TORMENTPress the Power button to charge Birds of Torment.Once fully charged, tap the Attack button to summon a Dire Crow.This action can be repeated in quick succession by continuously holding the Power button and tapping the Attack button again.

Repel:Swarmed Survivors can repel the Swarm either by completing the Repel action or by entering a Locker.During this time, the Swarm's Aura is not revealed to The Artist.

Ethereals can be found in Nagrand south of Lake Sunspring, in the Mana Tombs of Auchindoun, the Blade's Edge Mountains, and throughout the Netherstorm. A small number also dwell in Shattrath. The ethereals are driven by trade and economics, and accordingly, their political structures are centered around trade princes and political "companies". The ethereal faction called The Consortium, which players can gain reputation with, is one of these. The ethereals that currently control the Mana Tombs in Auchindoun led by Nexus-Prince Shaffar are another of these "political companies." The Ethereum is a radical militant organization that attempts to avenge the destruction of the ethereal homeworld by void creatures. The Protectorate attempts to thwart the void and protect neutral races from the Ethereum's attacks.

Nexus-stalkers are a partially void-based form of ethereal created by the rogue Ethereum faction, and are considered by the Protectorate to be aberrations.[18] Though the Ethereum was initially dedicated to hunting down and taking revenge on Dimensius, their goal later changed to "becoming void." To that end, they constructed a proto-accelerator which was used to manipulate the abundance of Void energy at Manaforge Ultris, bonding it with their own energy to transform into nexus-stalkers.[19]

These soldiers are lastly encountered in the consecutive missions "Smash the barracks" and "Disable weapons control system". In the former mission, they are fought by Dark Daxter and used to gain access to restricted areas in the Aeropan barracks. In the latter mission, they are Aeropa's primary line of defense, and were again used as pawns by the ethereal sub-commander which would remain capable of bringing them back to action.

The fact that they charge their blast gives you ample warning to avoid their line of attack, though they are fairly adept at tracking your movements before firing. Thus you should primarily rely on quickly closing the distance with a punch attack, as well as nimble movements around and behind objects. Aerial wastelander combos with the Blaster or barrages of fire from the Vulcan Fury are effective when returning to action after evading, while the Scatter Gun should be used to take multiple commandos out at a close distance. The eco amplifier, in combination with any gun mod, is also effective in certain situations.

The Atlantean gods have, for mysterious reasons, beat a hasty retreat from the city, threatening to destroy both New Atlantis and the city of New York that so many of the Scions have tried to preserve and restore. Thanks to the swift actions of numerous Scions throughout New Atlantis, and an ancient ritual discovered just in time, the ties binding Atlantis to New York were gently severed. With Atlantis safely set in place in the Overworld, the people of New York appear to have returned to normal life, with little memory of the past few years, and no recollection of New Atlantis.
